🖤 Welcome to The Revolution
Greetings Pioneers!
Welcome to the second edition of Open Org’s newsletter. If you’re reading this then three things are probably true:
You are cool af.
You give a shit about creating a better world of work and not just talking about it.
You believe transparency generates trust.
👉️ Quick reminder of what’s in the box?
Glad you asked! This is our regular drop of tips, resources, templates and insights from our small but mighty community of amazing People People trailblazing workplace transparency in the pursuit of a less opaque, less busted world of work.
Transparency is not just about exposing things, but also about making things understandable, so people can engage with them in meaningful ways.
Ready to dive in?
Let’s go.
Free shit to make your life easier: The Open Policy Index
Adam and I started to notice a repeating question reverberating across the many excellent People people slack groups and communities that we’re part of.
“Has anyone got a policy for…”
So we put on our thinking caps and figured it might be a cool community-driven project to invite everyone to contribute to a spicy Airtable database and share the love.
The result? 300+ policies and counting!

Big thanks to the folks at Unleashed for leading the charge on give-back efforts.
If you want to join in and add one of your policies, then please do here. Feels good to give back.
💡 Transparency Tip
Tip: Be transparent about…your approach to transparency as a business!
💡 It’s important for everyone to know what transparency means to you, what you do and don’t share by default and why it’s important to your business.
Gitlab (ofc!) have a fantastic example and we’ve also got you covered with a Notion template (ofc!) below 👇️
📚️ Interesting Internet
Book: Gamestorming is pretty cool if you’re looking to spice up your EX facilitations
Template: Check out the transparent policy template we made for you in Notion.
Post: Adam goes to war with vague benefits.
Framework: I recommend Gustavo Razzetti’s incredible culture design canvass at least once a week. Check it out.
Tool: Valuebeat is a culture analysis and decision-making platform that looks ace.
