2 minutes of fuel to ignite your Open Org journey - shipped every 2 weeks.
🖤 The Sparks Of Change
Greetings Pioneers!
Welcome to the third edition of Open Org’s newsletter and the 112 Progressive People People who joined since last time. If you’re reading this then three things are probably true:
You’re tired of people talking about the ‘future of work’ and way more interested in building it
You believe that a business operates better when people are treated like the adults they are.
You believe transparency gives people the context to make smart decisions with autonomy.
👉️ Quick reminder of what’s in the box?
So this is our fortnightly (Americans, that’s Brit-speak for “every 2 weeks” 😉 ) drop of tips, resources, templates and insights from our small but mighty community of amazing People People trailblazing workplace transparency in the pursuit of a less opaque, less busted world of work.
Your Transparency Will Lead To Other Peoples Transformation."
Ready to dive in?
Let’s go.

📖 OpenOrg #Build in Public
We’re pretty big #buildinpublic fans at Open Org, so here’s what we’ve been up to if you’re interested in that kind of thing. Wins, fails, learns and everything in between. 🤘
💡 Transparency Tip
Publish your hiring metrics
🖐️ Stop: showing candidates how long you 'hope' a process will take
👉️ Start showing them how long your actual Time to Hire is, based on your current data.
p.s if it’s not great. Share that you think so and outline the steps you are taking right now to prevent that. That’s how you build trust y’all.
🎙️ Adam did a pod on this with Ashby recently - check it out. Fun fact, he had Covid whilst recording and had to press mute to hide his cough 173 times.
📚️ Interesting Internet
Things I find that i like. Hope you like them too:
Book: The Coaching Habit by Marcus Bungay Stanier
Template: Miro template for running remote team health checks because sometimes engagement surveys just aren’t the best way.
Post: Pavania from Remote.com chats to us about all things transparency. Fascinating interview here.
Framework: Cynefin: A leadership decision-making framework that i think is just so darn useful for self-checks on ‘am i approaching this problem with the right mindset’
Tool: A friend of mine is building brainjuice.tech and he showed me a demo this week, it looks freakin awesome. Check it out if you’re a culture nerd who loves gamification and wants to up your onboarding, team-building and value alignment. I have some discount codes too - hit reply if you want one.
